Biography
Hologram Teen is the solo electronic motorik disco project of Morgane Lhote. Morgane is known by many for her work as keyboard period in the seminal indie kosmische act Stereolab; she recorded and performed with the band at the high-point of their career between 1995 and 2001 when they released their career defining albums including ‘Dots and Loops’ and ‘Emperor Tomato Ketchup’. Fans of Common will also be able to find Morgane on his Sgt Pepper inspired sleeve for Electric Circus. She followed her time in Stereolab with a stint in The Projects from 2002 to 2004 and from 2005 she played in Garden with members of Simian Mobile Disco before starting Hologram Teen.
The Hologram Teen sound is like something from a prog rock disco horror movie soundtrack. "It's like Fabio Frizzi meets Grandmaster Flash" says Morgane. Her single for Happy Robots records ‘Marsangst / Hex These Rules,’ almost invents a whole genre - ‘techno-Krautrock’. The EP for Happy Robots Records. was featured by the likes of Impose Magazine, Electronic Sound Magazine, The Electricity Club, Pure M, Is This Music and Louder than War. In 2022 Morgane returned to the label to release a new single 'The Restless Cyclops / Hologram Twang!' as part of our limited edition Bots of Delight series.
